Chapter 18

Death

I pulled her from the forest without touching her, all of us filling the space I’d prepared just for her.

It didn’t take long for her to soak in our surroundings and for terror to wash over her beautiful features. The dungeon was as big as her room, but without the comforts she was accustomed to. Chains hung from the nearest wall with bulky manacles that Jagger moved her towards.

She fought against him the way she had when she’d arrived in my castle, this time screaming like her life depended on it. I’d seen this scene play out in my mind a hundred times with each move I made, adjusting the results until I had her right where I wanted her.

Every event up until this point had driven her away from Yakov and into my domain. After that, I’d had to win her trust while sparking the attraction I’d felt for her for years. I watched her from the shadows, learning all there was to know about my little necromancer. When Yakov took her, his attempts to set her soul free were tainted by his unapologetic wickedness. But for me—her savior—it was all too easy to coax out her desires.

Chasing her in the dark, taunting her with images of me, Archer, Jagger, and Cassius taking her all at once. Commanding her body with nothing but my voice.

She was perfection.

An addiction I’d never be rid of, because I would never let her go.

My little raven only wanted to fly away—to be completely free—but she got too close, and I clipped her wings without her knowing.

The clang of the metal manacles binding her in place echoed loudly, snapping my mind back into the present.

“Let me go!” she screamed. “I’d rather die than be your prisoner! Just let me go!”

I strode towards her, stopping close enough to stroke my knuckles down her tear-slicked cheek. “It’s too late, little raven. You’re mine to do with as I please. And I will never free you from your new immortality. Like us, you will be frozen throughout time as you are now. Each year that passes will be spent with us. After a few centuries, you’ll forget why you ever wanted to run. You’ll stay in this dungeon until we’ve claimed every inch of your body.”

Archer chuckled darkly. “She’ll probably be too sore to run after tonight.”

My dick twitched at the reminder of what we were about to do. The wait to claim her was finally over. It only took me a few weeks to confirm what I’d suspected. And now that she was guaranteed to survive the process, there was nothing standing in my way.

Amethyst’s dark strands of hair fell around her face as she hung her head, a wretched sob pulled from the depths of her despair. Soon her pain would be over.

Her need to run, and run, and run, would come to an end.

We were her home. Her safe place. Her forever. And soon she would see that, too.

I brushed her hair back
